How far is this place from the city centre and how do we get here when we don’t have a personal vehicle?
The major city centre Madikeri is 18 km from our property and Kushalnagar is 14 km. The nearest town is 2 km from the property We can arrange for a taxi on a paid basis. 

What are the restaurant timings?
Our restaurant is open for breakfast from 8:00 am to 10:30 am, Lunch from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm and Dinner from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm. High Tea is served between 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

What type of cuisine is served at the restaurant?
We Serve North Indian, South Indian, Chinese, Continental and local delicacies. 

Can we pay by cash at the time of check-out?
We accept cash /card and UPI while the time of checkout. 

What documents are required for identification?
We require valid Govt issued ID proofs of all the occupants such as a driver’s license, Aadhar card, voter's card, and Passport. PAN card is not accepted.

Is it a pet-friendly resort? Can I bring my dog?
Yes, we are a pet-friendly resort and you can keep your pet in your room. Only the restaurant, Game Room, and library do not allow pets inside.

Are unmarried couples allowed?
Unmarried couples are allowed but both occupants have to produce valid government-issued ID Proof.

Do you have a Travel Desk?
We do not have a travel desk but we can arrange for local taxis for sightseeing.

Can we bring our own alcohol?
We do not have a bar and you can bring your own alcohol. We do not levy any Corkage charges.

Is there a bathtub in the room?
None of our bathrooms has bathtubs because we practice water conservation. 

Is there a private pool or Jacuzzi in the rooms?
We do not have a jacuzzi or private pool in any of our rooms or villas.

Is smoking allowed in your rooms?
Smoking is not allowed inside the rooms and you are allowed to smoke only on balconies.

Does each Bedroom in the villa have an attached bathroom?
Two Bedrooms have attached bathrooms. One bedroom has a separate bathroom which is located next to the bedroom door.

Do you have a kitchen in the villa and can we cook some meals ourselves?
We have a working kitchen in the villa which has a microwave oven, induction stove and refrigerator with limited utensils to cook basic food. 

is Wi-Fi available in villas?
All our rooms and Villas are equipped with Wi-Fi. 

Is there a gym/fitness centre? Also, is there any spa present on the property?
The Birchwood Retreat has a gymnasium. We do not have a separate spa but we offer in-room/villa spa services done by trained therapists.

Is there any accommodation for the driver and what are the charges?
Each Villa has a separate driver's quarter and we do not charge for the driver's accommodation. The Clubhouse rooms do not have driver’s accommodation and they can share the staff quarters. The drivers can have their food in our staff cafeteria without any additional charges.

Are there rooms on the ground floor with no steps? Is there a lift in case the room is not on the ground floor?
Yes, we do have Rooms on the ground floor without steps. While making your reservation, please select Deluxe king Rooms and then let us know your requirement over the phone or email. We do not have a lift facility.

Do you arrange for Plantation walks?
We have a daily guided coffee plantation walk with a trained naturalist. This is a complimentary activity and is done on all days of the week except Wednesdays.
